Gem Appeal

Sponsored Reading Challenge

Schools across the UK have been invited to take part in a very special reading challenge to raise money for THE GEM APPEAL.

Children are being asked to read one book a week (or as many as they can) and collect donations for their efforts. The advised target for each school is just £30!....

PLUS.....I am donating a hamper of books worth over £100 to the school which raises the most money!

The Gem Appeal

The Gem Appeal, founded by Karen Johnson in 1994, raises money to fund research into rare genetic diseases in children. To date, it has raised over £2,000,000.

Due to the research done and treatment becoming available, children and young people, who these days are diagnosed with these terrible life limiting disorders, now have hope and treatment available.

Denise Welch - Patron

Denise has been a supporter of The Gem Appeal for many years and each year organises a fund raising ball, so it seemed very appropriate that as the "voice" of the current Granny Moon book she agreed to say a few words in support of the challenge.
