Free School Readings

Live readings are a great way to encourage children to read, allowing them to connect an author with a book. As well as listening to the story, children are offered the chance to ask questions, meet the author, and take home a signed certificate.

They will also have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of the book (but this is not compulsory).

Over 80,000 Children!

By the middle of 2019 I have read to over 80,000 children across the whole of the UK, with each school being treated as though this is the first time I have done this. Every visit is unique and different and I tailor the reading accordingly.

I love to encourage students of all ages to engage with the reading, both during, and in particular after, when I will open up the floor to a question and answer session.

Keep Up With OFSTED

Remember their are a number of benefits to the school in arranging one of my visits. It inspires reading for pleasure and enjoyment in creative writing at all levels. OFSTED has recently recommended author visits can enhance your literacy education as seen in the ‘Moving English Forward’ report.

You can enhance your visit further with our educational activities and resources. The visit is ideal for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 (P1 - P4 and up to P7 in Scotland).

For the staff.

Each reading is supported by pre-visit notes and guidance on what to expect. We try to make everything as easy as possible and are just a phone call away should you need us!

For after the reading, our staff resource pack is available to use in class to talk about the visit and includes activities for rhyming, editing, story writing, as well as fun things like colouring in, word-searches and mazes, all themed around Granny Moon!

What teachers say.

Here are just a few of the teachers from the many schools I have visited giving their honest reviews.
